WOMEN'S GIVING SOCIETIES

There are many ways to practice tzedakah, righteous acts of giving. Below are the three national Federation recognition societies for women who make a gift to the Annual Campaign in their own name. If you'd like to learn more, please contact Laurie Mandell.

Lion of Judah recognizes women who make a commitment of at least $5,000 in their own name each year to the Women’s Philanthropy Campaign. Lions attend exclusive events such as the annual Lion of Judah Luncheon and the International Lion of Judah Conference. The stunning Lion of Judah pin represents sisterhood and connectedness, leadership and power.

Lions of Judah have the opportunity to "reach higher," adding precious gems to their Lion pin as they increase their annual gift:

  • Diamond - $5,000
  • Ruby - $10,000
  • Sapphire - $18,000
  • Emerald - $25,000
  • Double Chai (Amethyst) - $36,000
  • Zahav (Canary Diamond) - $50,000
  • Sabra (Cognac Diamond) - $75,000
  • Prime Minister's Circle (White Gold with Black Diamond) - $100,000
  • International Leadership Reunion (White Gold with Diamond Pavé) - $250,000

Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE) is for those Lions who wish to create a lasting Jewish legacy for the future.

The Pomegranate Society recognizes women who make a commitment of at least $1,800 in their own name to Women’s Philanthropy Campaign. One of the seven fruits named in the Bible, the pomegranate is said to contain 613 seeds, one for each of the mitzvot, or commandments, found in the Torah.

The Pearl Society level of giving recognizes women who make a commitment of at least $180 in their own name to Women’s Philanthropy Campaign. It was started in Hartford and has now become a national model for Federations across the country.
