Four Israeli Medical Companies Presenting At UCONN Health in Farmington, CT
Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford and MetroHartford Alliance, organizations that have worked collaboratively since 2011 to grow business opportunities between Connecticut and Israel, are pleased to announce their first Innovations Showcase, which will be held on April 20, 2015, at UCONN Health, John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington, Connecticut.
The Showcase is the latest development in a highly successful partnership, which began at a boardroom table in 2011 and grew into The CT-Israel Technology Initiative, including three Summits that attracted hundreds of regional businesses to meet Israeli start-ups. In 2013, MetroHartford Alliance, Federation and community leadership participated in a business mission to Israel led by Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Catherine Smith.

“The Showcase is an exciting first for us and includes some truly cutting-edge companies we are pleased to bring to the awareness of the State. Unlike at the larger Summits, these meetings are designed to offer top level business people a detailed picture of future technology being developed by Israeli companies,” said Laura Zimmerman, vice president of Jewish Public Affairs for the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford. “Through the years we have found a lot of synergy between Connecticut and Israel in the fields of life sciences, security as well as other specific sectors.
The Alliance and the Federation missions are complementary in many ways. MetroHartford Alliance serves more than 1,000 businesses, municipalities and organizations are among our membership ranks. We support pro-growth legislation, help local companies expand, assist startups, encourage government investment in key infrastructure assets, develop programs for young professionals, and recruit companies from other states to create a presence in the Region.
Since 1945, Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford has been a community leader and change agent, working with a diverse set of partners to create a thriving, caring and connected Jewish network in 30 towns in Greater Hartford. Federation collaborates with partners across the State to create meaningful connections to Israel; care for the neediest and bring Jewish values to life. “We are committed to the success of Israel and to seeing community jobs and technology grow,” said Howard Sovronsky, president & CEO of Federation.
