About Matt Lesser
Once the youngest member of the General Assembly, Matt Lesser is serving his fifth term in the Connecticut House of Representatives. In the legislature, Matt serves as chair of the Banking Committee. He wrote Connecticut's landmark Student Loan Bill of Rights and its ban on fracking waste. A cancer survivor himself, Matt wrote a law expanding insurance coverage for young women with cancer. Matt has been active in the Jewish community and wrote a law restricting state contracts from going to companies that do business in Iran. In 2018, Matt announced he would not be seeking reelection to the House, and is instead running for state senate. Matt lives with his wife Sarah and their dog Lucy in Middletown.
