West Hartford, Connecticut: On Sunday, April 2nd, 2017 at 4pm, The American Baroque Orchestra performs Hebrew Song and Splendor: Sephardic Music of 18th Century Amsterdam at Congregation Beth Israel of West Hartford, Connecticut. The listener will experience the intersection of ancient Hebrew chant and the vibrant, pulsating sounds of the high Baroque, as originally heard in the Portuguese Synagogue of Amsterdam, as well as in the 18th century Jewish communities of the Netherlands. The American Baroque Orchestra performs with the exuberance and artistry of the period, through the instruments and vocal styles of the time. Soloists include soprano Kathryn Aaron, and Cantor Lauren Phillips of Congregation Beth Israel, and violinist Edson Scheid.
