Herb Keinon, Award winning diplomatic correspondent and senior contributing editor at the Jerusalem Post, presents "Israel at 75: Is this the child we prayed for?" Herb will review some of Israel's great achievements as well as challenges, successes and failures as it approaches 75 years of independence. Herb's thesis is that despite its ups and downs, "this is the child we prayed for." He will also address the current situation concerning the government’s plan to revamp the judiciary.
Herb Keinon has been at the Jerusalem Post for 35 years, 20 of those as its diplomatic correspondent, and during this time has covered up close the major stories that have shaped the nation for more than three decades: from the first intifada to the withdrawal from Gaza; the massive immigration of Soviet Jews to the Rabin assassination; the Ariel Sharon premiership to that of Benjamin Netanyahu. He lectures widely in Israel and around the world on political and diplomatic developments in the country. This program is offered in conjunction with the JCC of Paramus – Congregation Beth Tikvah and is virtual, registration required.
