Beth El Temple of West Hartford, Connecticut, is proud to announce an evening commemorating its 65th anniversary! The community is invited to join the synagogue for an evening celebrating our vibrant Jewish future together with Reflection, Resilience and Affirmation on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at 7pm.

World-renowned historian, author and professor Deborah E. Lipstadt will provide the keynote address for the “Strengthening Our Foundation” event. The evening also includes the presentation of the Stanley M. Kessler Award, honoring the life of Abby Weiner z”l.

Dr. Lipstadt is Dorot Professor of Modern Jewish History and Holocaust Studies at Emory University in Atlanta. She is the award-winning author of seven books and numerous articles. Her newest book, Antisemitism: Here and Now, has received high acclaim. She wrote this important book prior to the horrific incident that occurred in Pittsburgh at the Tree of Life Synagogue.

All levels of sponsorship are available. Pillar of Righteousness through Mitzvah sponsorship levels include Premium Reserved Program seating, a signed copy of Lipstadt’s latest book, and a Private Cocktail and Dinner Reception at 5:30pm with our special guest. The program will begin promptly at 7:00pm in the main Sanctuary followed by a Gala Dessert Reception, which Dr. Lipstadt will also attend. General admission tickets are $54. Student tickets are available for $18.

This evening is being underwritten by the Leonard & Vicki Eisenfeld Endowment Fund, Gloria Goldenberg Music & Lecture Series Endowment Fund and Amy E. Toyen Endowment Fund, all named funds within The Endowment Fund of Beth El Temple.
