After six weeks of films that will elicit every emotion and provoke every thought, let’s wrap this festival up with a night of LOL! Comedy for Peace is an inter-faith comedy initiative founded in March 2019 that brings Muslim, Jewish (and increasingly Christian) stand-up comedians together on the same stage to build community through laughter — explicitly no politics, just laughs. The show features a rotating lineup of professional comedians drawing from their diverse life experiences and cultural identities, and every performance ends with a live Q&A that gives audiences a chance to engage, connect and reflect.

Organized by founder Dotan Malach and headquartered in New York City, Comedy for Peace has toured across the U.S., Canada and online; it has been praised by institutions such as the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland for “bringing communities together through laughter when it’s badly needed.” And after all we’ve been through lately, this is just what the doctor ordered!
