HINENI: Living Joyously in Uncertain Times
An Evening of Voices and Visions

With Dr. Ruth Westheimer
And special guests State Senator Saud Anwar and Reverend gretchen N. Sausville

Tuesday, September 24, 2019
5 p.m. networking and cocktails; 6 p.m. dinner; 7 p.m. program
The Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford

HINENI is Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford’s biggest event of the year and the kickoff to our Annual Campaign. The Hebrew word hineni means “here I am” – and HINENI is an opportunity to stand up for the Jewish community and celebrate the power of partnerships to create a better world.

Legendary sex therapist Dr. Ruth Westheimer will share the amazing story of how she not only survived but thrived by building alliances during uncertain times. She will share lessons from her childhood in Nazi Germany, her service as an Israeli freedom fighter, and her audacious move to the United States as a single mother who spoke little English.

Connecticut State Senator Saud Anwar and Reverend gretchen N. Sausville, formerly Associate Pastor and Acting Head of Staff at Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Hartford and now a pastor in Arvada, Colorado (a suburb of Denver), will also share their own stories of identity and community.

This event is nearly sold out. For more information, contact Bill Baronas at 860.727.6131 or bbaronas@jewishhartford.org.
