“He who occupies himself with communal needs is as one who occupies himself with the study of Torah.” [Jerusalem Talmud, Berachot I, 8A]

There are approximately 28,000 Jews in the Greater Hartford area with eleven congregations, three day schools, three Hillels, a mikveh, JCC, JFS, JHS, JFGH, JCF, JFACT, JCL, JTConnect,  along with other organizations active in the community including ADL, AIPAC, NCJW, and “Mitzvah Mamas.” In addition, there are several regional and national organizations connected to us. What is the “geography” and “demography” of our community and how is your leadership relative to this eco-system?
