The Abitz-Angel Memorial Golf Tournament is named in memory of two dedicated men who endlessly gave back to the community, and who also helped make this tournament a success. Todd Abitz was one of the tournament founders and chaired the board in its early years, helping it grow to the successful fundraising event it has become today. After his passing, the tournament was renamed in Todd's honor.
Bill Angle played in the tournament for most of its existence, contributed generously, and helped the event grow for nearly two decades. Before passing away from a brain tumor in 2017, Bill asked that any memorial donations be given to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center's Foundation for Pediatric Oncology. This final act of charity and selflessness inspired us to add his name to the tournament and designate CCMC as the primary beneficiary for this annual charity event.
