"A Breakfast with Dr. Itzhak Brook: A Physician’s Personal Experiences of the 6 Day and Yom Kippur Wars"
The presentation includes a description of the historical background of the 6 Day and Yom Kippur Wars and its effects on the Israeli society, as well as Dr. Brook’s own personal experiences and challenges as a medic in Jerusalem in the 6 Day War and a battalion physician in the Sinai in the Yom Kippur War. Dr. Brook plans to speak on the physical and psychological traumas the soldiers had to cope with, the effect of religion on them, the cost of war in human life and suffering, and the daily struggle for survival in the difficult war which threatened Israel’s existence.
Dr. Brook will sign books after the program. Those interested in reading his book "In the Sands of Sinai: A Physician's Account of the Yom Kippur War" prior to the presentation can purchase a copy for $12 by contacting Joe Springut.
