SUBJECT LINE:  Support K-12 Antisemitism Task Force

I am one of your constituents, and a concerned member of the Jewish community. I am writing to urge you to support moving forward the omnibus bill originally introduced as HB7012 that would establish a task force to confront antisemitism in K-12 public schools during the upcoming special session.

In November 2024, a 10-year-old Jewish girl in Greenwich was punched in the face by a classmate who stated that she did so because the girl is Jewish. Just a few months later, swastikas were scrawled at Weston Middle School. These are not isolated incidents. Antisemitism is rising and it is showing up in our schools with alarming frequency.

Massachusetts has already taken action, recently adopting strong K-12 recommendations including anti-bias training, curriculum updates, and a statewide reporting system. Connecticut must do the same. There is strong, widespread, and unified support for this legislation.

I urge you to support this legislation during the upcoming special session.
