The lecture tracks Sgt. Benjamin Anthony’s experiences as an IDF soldier through the major challenges the IDF faces in the arena of public opinion, particularly on campuses today.
Benjamin Anthony is a reservist in the Israel Defense Forces and a veteran of some of Israel's most recent campaigns. As founder of the organization, Our Soldiers Speak, Sgt. Anthony has brought the apolitical truth of the IDF to some 200 university campuses throughout the English speaking world.
This event is cosponsored by Young Israel and JCRC of the Jewish Federation.

Tikkun Together

The Jewish Federations of Greater Hartford is a network for doing good, through meaningful philanthropy and hands-on volunteerism. Through our Tikkun Together program we are asking the Jewish agencies and area synagogues to join us in doing a Mitzvah project. We will promote the day as a community wide effort for Tikkun Olam - Tikkun Together. The Jewish Federation is the largest, most effective networks of social service providers and programs in the Greater Hartford area, translating Jewish values into social action.
NextGen of the Jewish Federation will be coordinating a food drive to benefit the Jewish Family Services Kosher Food Pantry on Sunday, March 4th at the Crown Supermarket from 10 to 12 pm.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford announces Dan Abrams, ABC News legal analyst, as the headliner for their entirely new signature event on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at The Bushnell in downtown Hartford. “I am honored the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford has asked me to be a part of their new event. I look forward to being there and addressing the Jewish community in May,” Abrams said.
Dan Abrams regularly appears on "Good Morning America" and "World News Tonight." Abrams is also a recognized writer. He has published articles in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today magazine, The American Lawyer, the Yale Law & Policy Review and is a regular columnist for Men's Health. He was the Chief Legal Analyst for NBC News and MSNBC from 2008 through 2010. From June 2006 to October 2007, Abrams served as General Manager of MSNBC, during which time ratings grew by 62% and where he branded the network "The Place for Politics."
The event will kick off with an opening performance by comedian, Judy Gold.

The evening will include Lifetime Achievement Awards presented to Eleanor Caplan and Arnold C. Greenberg. Eleanor served on Federation’s Israel Task Force, the Domestic Task Force of the Jewish Community Relations Council, the Holocaust Committee and presently serves as a Life Community Trustee. Arnoldhas been active for more than fifty years in various activities of the Federation, is a board member and was a recipient of the Edward Suisman Award for Inspirational Leadership.
This event presents an opportunity for men and women to come together to celebrate our leadership and philanthropy. For many years, our signature events were VOICES and VISIONS.

Minimum gift to the 2012 Annual Campaign to attend is $250 per person. Invitations will be mailed early to mid-March.
